This was originally going to be a painting of bright trees against a dark sky — because that’s what it was like outside after the rain this morning cleared up. One side of the sky was dark steel blue, but light from the other side lit up the trees until they almost glowed.
But my trees didn’t have enough to them… so I started adding “branches” that turned into leaf veins… soon, everything in my painting was quite a bit smaller! Amazing how close leaves are in looks to the trees they come from…
